Description
25" (64 cm.) Carved wooden shoulderhead with rounded face, elongated neck, deeply-carved details of short curly hair accentuated by painted swirls around the sides of face, narrow blue painted and outlined eyes, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, tiny defined chin tip, early cloth body and wooden lower arms, nicely costumed. Condition: structurally excellent, original painted finish albeit extensive craquelure. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: rare to find doll with excellent detail of carving, original finish.
