Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, small blue glass sleep eyes with defined upper eyelids, thick upper eyeliner and fringe-painted upper lashes, one-stroke tapered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth modeled with slightly-parted lips as though about to speak, defined space between the lips, two painted upper teeth, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: hairline at back of head from crown, body is German and of the era, but not original to this doll. Marks: K*R 112 49. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1912, from the firm's art character series. Value Points: the very rare glass-eyed variation of the 112 art character doll has very fine gleaming patina of complexion enhancing the deeply modeled features.
