Description
9 1/2" (24 cm.) Bisque socket head with chubby dimpled cheeks, brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, short brushstroked brows, open mouth with two rows of porcelain teeth, brunette mohair bobbed wig, five-piece composition body, nicely costumed. Marks: Germany 410 5/0. Comments: Marseille, circa 1913, the model was commissioned by Robert Maaser from that firm. Value Points: rare model with wonderful expression, impressed cheek dimples, double row of teeth with (working) retractable movement of lower row; when the doll is lying down the teeth disappear, and when sitting up, the lower teeth re-appear.
