17" (43 cm.) Early metal steam engine with high transmission,complete with burner on nicely
painted tin base with colorful decoration,a rare example by Georges Carette,a French toy maker
who set up his works in Germany in the late-19th century and produced toy boats and steam
engines until the war in 1917 when he fled back to Paris. Germany,George Carette & Co.,circa
1910. Excellent condition,some minor paint wear to to tin base.
