10" (25 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, lushly painted lashes, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, pierced ears, brunette human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E. 1 D. (head and artist checkmarks). Comments: Jumeau, circa 1890, the bebe bears the initials of the Jumeau foreman, Douillet,and is the only Jumeau doll with signature markings of Jumeau colleague indicating the respect bestowed upon the long-time member of the firm. Value Points: very rare marked Jumeau bebe is notable for unique expression, very fine bisque, brilliant blue eyes, original body and body finish, original chemise.
