13" (33 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of ruddy-faced man with black sculpted unruly hair, tendrils falling onto his forehead, incised character lines in face, enamel eyes, mouth modeled as though open with row of painted teeth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted tall boots with wrinkled uppers and tan soles with red flaps, wearing original folklore costume with matching unusually trimmed hat. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
