Description
14" (5 cm.) Bisque socket head, pale blue glass sleep eyes with darker blue iris rims, dark painted eyeliner, painted curly lashes and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, blonde mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 128 5. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1912, from a rare series of glass-eyed art character models by that firm. Value Points: the model is rarely found, and her rarity is enhanced by superb characterization that is wonderful to find on such petite models, finest bisque and painting, original body and body finish, beautiful waist-length soft mohair wig, and wonderful antique costume.
