12" (30 cm.) Pink tinted porcelain shoulderplate with two variations of face, each with sculpted hair that is separated by a wide bonnet brim, one face with deeply incised wrinkles and gaunt cheeks, smiling expression, inset blue eyes, jutting chin and nose; and the alternate face with dainty blue eyes and delicate cheek blush, black sculpted hair; on muslin body and porcelain lower limbs, each doll face with variation of costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1885, the doll was designed to symbolize the various ages of women. Value Points: rare model with excellent attention to age depictions.
