All-cloth doll with stiffened oil-painted facial features and brown hair in short bobbed fashion, painted blue eyes with black outline and painted all-around lashes, fringed brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, accented lips, muslin stitch-jointed body with oil-painted hands and painted peach ankle boots, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: The Ella Smith Doll Manufacturers of the Alabama Indestructible Baby, Roanoke Ala, Patent (illegible). Comments: Ella Smith, circa 1910. Value Points: rare model of the American studio cloth doll with all-original painting and finish, rarer bobbed hair model and unusual painting of boots.
