19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 137. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1880, mystery maker, the doll closely resembles French Bebes whose market it sought to capture. Value Points: the beautiful bebe has lovely bisque, original body and body finish.
