12" (30 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhed of dignified older gentleman, bald pate, sculpted greying hair at sides and back of head, incised age lines, thick brows, strong nose, enamel eyes, mouth modeled nearly closed with teeth, tinted beard stubble, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted stockings and shoes, wearing original costume shirt, pants, sash, and lined green velvet long coat. Excellent condition, paint worn on lower legs. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
