Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass sleep eyes with wire-lever eyes, rose blushed eye shadow, brush-fringed brows, delicately-painted lashes, accented nostrils, open mouth, two rows of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over original Steiner pate, French composition fully-jointed body, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sie C 1 (incised) J. Steiner BSGDG J. Bourgoin SGDG (red lettering) (eyes signed J. Steiner). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1880, the open mouth variation of the early bebe is documented but is very rarely found. Value Points: beautiful bebe with finest bisque, dainty tiny teeth, original wig, pate, body and body finish. Private Collection of Marisol Valverde.
