Description
12" (30 cm.) Poured wax shoulderhead with delicate rose complexion, blue glass enamel inset eyes, delicately inset lashes, tinted brows and eyeliner, nostril dots, closed mouth, inserted delicate hair, muslin body, poured wax lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: England, attributed to Pierotti, circa 1865, the doll is shown in The Jumeau Book, page 48, by Francois Theimer as an example of the early wax dolls imported into France. Value Points: impeccably preserved condition, the doll is wearing original gown, undergarments and bonnet, and is preserved in base of original decorated box. Private Collection of Marisol Valverde.
