Description
15" (38 cm.) All-wooden doll with one-piece carved wooden head and torso, heart-shaped head, elongated throat, painted black hair with grey shadowing and tendrils of curls around the face, tiny centered and painted facial features, blue eyes, closed mouth, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted red flat shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Obergammergau region, circa 1830. Value Points: well-preserved original condition, unusual painting of hair details, wearing original gentleman's costume of 1830.
