Description
17" (43 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with rounded face, painted dark blue downcast eyes, black upper eyeliner, delicately-painted all-around lashes, accented dots at nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset jointing at hips and knees, porcelain arms to above the elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Adelaide Huret, early period poupee, circa 1857. Value Points: very beautiful poupee wearing antique white pique gown with soutache embroidery, lace bonnet, jewelry, hankie, undergarments, and leather shoes. Private Collection of Louise Hedrick.
