German Bisque Character with Decorated Hair Band by Goebel

9 1/2" (24 cm.) Bisque socket head with sculpted short tousled blonde curls held by a wide hair band with bow that is decorated by hand-painted blue flowers, painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, closed mouth with dimpled smile, two beaded upper teeth, composition five-piece flapper body, painted stockings and shoes, original costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: C 2 (and Goebel crown mark). Comments: from a series of character children issued by the firm, circa 1920. Value Points: rare doll with wonderful expression and detail has original body and costume.
