Two-part paper mache head with red-edged applied ears, white complexion with painted clown decorations, smiling expression, painted teeth, bald pate with tacked-on cap (no wood cone under cap), jointing at shoulders and hips, painted red shoes with upturned toes. Excellent condition. American, Schoenhut, 1908. Early period Clown from the Humpty Dumpty Circus, wearing original white costume with applied red fuzzy spots on suit and cap.
