Bisque socket head with elongated face and full cheeks, blue glass spiral-threaded eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists and flat ridge derriere. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sch (in shield) 4/0 (head) Sch (in shield on derriere). Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1884. Value Points: sought-after petite size bebe with very rare facial model for this size, beautiful expression and painting, original body and body finish, antique silk costume is likely original, with matching silk bonnet and cream kidskin shoes.
