Description
9 1/2" (24 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead of adult lady, oval face, elongated throat, brown sculpted hair in elaborate coiffure with rolls of curls at forehead, and arranged curls at crown framed by a gilt-edged blue head band, painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, closed mouth, pierced ears, muslin body, black painted ankle boots, antique (frail) costume. Condition: bisque excellent, some repairs on cloth body. Comments: Conta & Bohme, circa 1870, in 1851 the firm had won the Gold Medal at the Crystal Palace International Exposition in London. Value Points: elaborate coiffure with blue head band and rare brown hair, pierced ears. Private Collection of Marianne Cieslik.
