Description
32" (81 cm.) overall with horses. 17"l, x 15"h. wagon. The wooden animal cage with decorative wooden wheels and crest has original red, gold, and green finish, attached driver's seat, embossed medallions, metal cage sides, and a hinged door at the back, being pulled by two wooden dappled horses with carved manes, painted eyes, on green wooden wheeled base. A driver with two-part head, painted brown hair with sideburns and extended moustache, jointing at shoulders, hips and knees (allowing seated pose), wooden helmet and original felt costume is included, along with two wooden glass-eyed tigers with ball-jointed necks, open mouth, rope tails. Excellent condition, light scuffing on horse manes, original finish is otherwise beautifully preserved on entire cage, driver and animals. American, Schoenhut Humpty Dumpty Circus, circa 1910.
