Description
13 1/2" (34 cm.) h. chalet. 5" dolls. A wooden chalet with lithographed paper finish simulating brick, stone and shingles features a three-sided balcony upon which are standing three small bisque dolls with blue glass eyes, painted features, closed mouth, mohair wig, composition arms and legs, wearing original ivory silk costumes and caps and holding three different musical instruments. When wound, the dolls move back and forth playing their instruments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, Zinner and Sohne, circa 1900, an unusual style of the classic Zinner and Sohne toy, in wonderfully preserved original state. Private Collection of Marianne Cieslik.
