8" (20 cm.) Two-part head with black complexion, attached ears, textured black hair, wide smiling expression with row of teeth, jointing at shoulders and hips, painted brown shoes. Excellent condition. American, Schoenhut, 1908. Early example of Black Dude from the Humpty Dumpty Circus, wearing original costume with rare earliest black jacket with boutonniere, black hat with gold band, tied-down checkered pants, polka dot shirt, vest, colorful bow-tie, and carrying cane; note variation of shirt fabric with #110.
