4 1/2" (11 cm.) Modeled face with hand-painted features, sculpted helmet, padded wire armature body. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1914, from a series of miniature soldiers issued by her firm during the WWI era. A history of these rare figures appears in the book German Doll Studies, pages 292/273. Value Points: rarely found, this example is wearing its original uniform, helmet, boots, and carries accessories, and is preserved in original box with label "Der Unteroffirier".
