Description
19" (48 cm.) h. chair. Seated in a woven wicker hooded garden chair is a bisque doll having socket head, blue glass eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, brushstroked brows, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, body of composition and cloth posed seated, a rattle held in right bisque hand, and an all-bisque baby held in left bisque hand, antique costumes; with internal mechanism designed to allow the child to shake rattle while music plays. Condition: presentation and bisque dolls excellent, mechanism needs adjusting. Comments: Germany, doll by Simon and Halbig, circa 1890. Value Points: most charming display presentation.
