15" (38 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead, sculpted black hair with very wide pouf curls and sculpted beehive topknot, painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, tiny closed mouth, blushed cheeks, slender kid body, wooden lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: rare doll with exceptional coiffure, original finish, original body, and elaborate original costume.
