Two French "Ouvrages de Cheveux" in Original Frames

8" (20 cm.) x 7", 7" X 5". Each is ebony wooden frame enclosing a domed glass center with gilded metal edging, that contains an exquisitely worked woven hair arrangement; the larger an intricate "bouquet" of woven hair flowers including sunflowers, asters and marguerites with branches and leaves; and the smaller a poignant interweaving of two hair colors in elegantly looped fashion, captured by a faux-ribbon which is actually woven hair, and inscribed on the bottom (with woven hair) "A notre Pere, A notre Mere" (to our papa, to our mama), likely a commissioned presentation from two young sisters to their beloved parents. Excellent condition. French, circa 1875.
