Description
13" (33 cm.) Posed upon a wooden platform with purple velvet cover are two bisque dolls, each with blue glass eyes, painted features, open mouth, blonde mohair wig, wooden torso, wire lower limbs, carved wooden hands and boots; presented as a dancing boy and girl, each is wearing original folklore costume. When wound, the couple is designed to twirl and dance. Condition: Structurally excellent, mechanism is willful. Marks: 44.18 (boy). Comments: attributed to Zinner and Sohne, with bisque head by Gebruder Kuhnlenz, circa 1890. Value Points: charming parlor toy with pretty bisque faces, original costumes.
