Description
10" (25 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead, black sculpted hair drawn smoothly around the face, painted brown eyes, closed mouth, slender kid body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1860. Value Points: the peddler doll wears original costume including layered gown and petticoats, red woolen cap and black sunbonnet, and carries a large tray of wares including buttons, sewing novelties, and even tiny peg-wooden dolls, presented on ebony base under glass dome.
