Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head with three alternate faces, including: crying with brown glass eyes and tears, closed downcast lips; smiling with brown glass eyes, closed mouth; and the third with modeled closed eyelids, closed mouth; the heads enclosed in paper mache hood attached to torso which has pull-string mama crier, composition and wooden ball-string arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: C.B. (stamp on shoulderplate). Comments: Carl Bergner, circa 1890. Value Points: with original lace bonnet and chemise. Private Collection of Marianne Cieslik.
