22" (56 cm.) h. 16"w. Arranged on an oval wooden base under glass dome is an elaborate arrangement of gilt ormolu, mirrors and porcelain flowers, centering a tufted red cushion upon which is resting a bridal coronet of wax flowers. Excellent condition. French, circa 1880, the choosing of a bridal arrangement with symbolic details such as number of years (the length of the engagement), doves (peace) and such, was a tradition for young brides-to-be and designed as a means to later display wedding ephemera such as bouquet or coronet.
