Description
9" (23 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flat-cut neck socket which accommodates to protruding dowel from torso, blue glass spiral threaded eyes with darker blue outer rims, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between outlined lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig with braided detail, paper mache body jointed at shoulders and hips, painted white stockings and black two-strap shoes, lovely antique costume with bead-accented vest. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 0. Comments: Sonneberg, maker unknown, the doll was made to appeal to the French market, circa 1880. Value Points: beautiful entrancing eyes on the petite doll, rare neck articulation with original body.
