Description
5" (13 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead portraying an adult lady, sculpted ash blonde hair with two rows of short curly bangs, the sides waved backwards above the ears and held by a black band at the crown with gold dots, and two large U-shaped curls raised high at the crown, forming into ringlet curls at the back and with four additional ringlet curls, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line and slightly upturned lip corners, and fully sculpted pierced ears, sculpted bodice with exceptional upturned collar decorated with two-tone blue striping and framed by a mauve neck ribbon with magenta decorations, three-strand gold beaded necklace with cameo medallion. Condition: restoration to back collar and cameo, otherwise excellent. Marks: 106 - 3. Comments: C.F. Kling, circa 1870. Value Points: very beautiful and extremely rare lady doll has sculpted necklace, bodice, collar, pierced ears, glass eyes, and ornate coiffure. Private Collection of Marianne Cieslik.
