Description
7 1/2" (19 cm.) x 7 1/2" box. 6 1/2" doll. A firm-sided box with lithographed color scene of two little girls sewing doll clothes opens to reveal a bisque-head doll with blue glass eyes, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, blonde mohair wig, composition five-piece body, original costume and shoes, along with a 54 page booklet with descriptions for various costumes for the dolls. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 192 (doll) Die Kleine Pupenschneiderin/Agnes Lucas (box and booklet). Comments: Germany, circa 1900, Agnes Lucas was a leader in the presentation of sewing ensembles for young girls. Value Points: rare ensemble with original doll, in original box with costume booklet.
