Description
2" (5 cm.) h. heads. Nine different bisque heads with painted eyes include a variety of character expressions and styles of hair or hats, including googlies and sculpted bonnets. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (R.A. initials or model numbers). Comments: Theodor Recknagel, the models were registered by the firm between 1912 and 1914. Value Points: wonderful study group of expressive features; also included are two 9" bisque dolls with composition bodies, one representing the character Moritz with sculpted topknot and mischievous expression, marked 32 12/0; and the other with blonde sculpted hair, modeled white cap and decorative earrings, marked R 71 A 10/0.
