Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass "flirty" eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, metal torso containing walking mechanism which connects with metal legs terminating in hidden rollers at bottom of feet; when wound, the doll "walks" on hidden rollers, and flirts eyes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SH 1039 7 dep (head) Brevete 305 269 sgdg (bottom of feet). Comments: for the French market, circa 1900. Value Points: unusual variation of the patented Imhoff walking doll, with charming flirty eyes. Private Collection of Marianne Cieslik.
