Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on bisque shoulderplate with distinctive shape of neck connection, very plump face, painted blue eyes set in deeply modeled eye sockets, dark eyeliner, painted all-around lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center line between the delicately-shaded lips, ears pierced into head, kid softly-stuffed body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, kid-over wooden upper arms, gutta percha arms. Condition: bisque is excellent, tiny rub on complexion of right cheek, torso and legs are Rohmer with Rohmer stamp, arms are Huret. Comments: Adelaide Huret, circa 1860. Value Points: exceptional modeling especially of eyes and with most artistic painting lends a superb artistic presence to the doll, lovely antique costume comprising gown with fringe trim, undergarments, leather boots with Huret type sole (unsigned) and brown leather purse.
