Description
19" (48 cm.) Composition socket head with very characterized expression, wooden top hat of band leader with decorative wooden plume and black brim, composition torso sculpted as a red jacket with applied wooden buttons and yellow cord, all-wooden jointed arms and legs, wooden hands drilled for carrying baton and with slits for holding signs, and painted wooden shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: General Electric Radio (and GE logo,on hat). Comments: designed by famed American illustrator, Maxfield Parrish, as a promotional piece by General Electric, created in doll form by Joseph Kallus of Cameo, circa 1930. Value Points: rare and intricately-designed fabulous character designed by sought-after American illustrator. Ex-Collection Don Jensen.
