Carved wooden socket head, carved brown short curly hair peeking from beneath a carved wooden Bavarian hat with defined band and defined feathers, painted blue outlined eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth, paper mache body with jointing at shoulders and hips, sculpted and painted black laced shoes and knee-high green stockings. Condition: generally excellent, some paint scuffs on original finish. Comments: Germany, late 1800s. Value Points: rare carved hat, original painting, original Bavarian costume.
