17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with three back head seams, firmly-pressed and oil-painted brown hair and facial features, small brown painted eyes, black and brown upper eyeliner, lightly-tinted brows, rounded small nose, nostril dots, small closed mouth, pronounced double chin, stitch-jointed arms and separately-stitched thumbs, disc-jointed legs, antique woolen tunic with embroidered flowers, leggings, wool slippers, woven cap. Condition: very good, some light touch-up on hair and nose, body stained, fingers and toes worn. Marks: Kathe Kruse (and illegible numbers). Comments: Kathe Kruse, early production of Series I doll with characteristic small eyes. Value Points: rare to find model with endearing wistful expression.
