23" (58 cm.) Felt swivel head with firmly-pressed and painted facial features, blue eyes with centering black shoe-button irises, painted eye shadow, single stroke brows, upturned nose, closed mouth with smiling expression and painted teeth, stitched-on ears, tufts of hair at forehead under stitched-on red felt jester cap with blue pom-poms, muslin body with elongated salon-style floppy legs, stitched jointing at shoulders, large narrow feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Hechtpuppe Else Hecht (paper label, original hang tag). Comments: Else Hecht, circa 1920. Value Points: wonderful and well-preserved character with vibrant colors of original red, blue and yellow felt jester costume with blue pom-poms, upturned toes on slippers, ruffled pleated collar.
