8" (20 cm.) and 12". Each is all wooden with socket head, carved black painted hair in short cropped style with stippled curls onto forehead and with black painted fitted cap having red borders, painted brown eyes, brows, closed mouth, jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 501 1/2 9. (penciled on back torso). Comments: Huggler of Brienz, Switzerland, circa 1920, the celebrated wood carving firm. Value Points: the handsome pair of lads have rare modeled caps, and are wearing original traditional costumes.
