22" (56 cm.) Solid domed carved wooden head with natural finish, painted facial features, distinctively-painted eye whites, painted upper lashes and single stroke brows, well-defined nose, philtrum and chin, closed mouth, painted black hair, firmly-stuffed bodice and upper arms, wooden hands, hollow wire-framed skirt designed for use as tea cozy. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Lina Puppen (paper tag on wrist). Comments: Germany, 1920s. Value Points: the charming facial expression is enhanced by original costume including fitted coiffe, embroidered bodice, skirt and apron, along with a 1926 dated coin which has been tucked into her sleeve.
