Description
18" (46 cm.) All-cloth doll with stitched-on three-back-seam head, pressed and oil-painted facial features, shaded blue/green painted eyes, white eye dots, black and brown upper eyeliner, nostril dots, closed mouth, original blonde human hair wig in short bobbed curls, stitch-jointed shoulders, loosely sewn-on legs with ribbon that attaches to button at back torso to hold seated or standing pose. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Kathe Kruse 8756 (feet) Kathe Kruse (paper label with hand-lettered name "Peter"). Comments: Kathe Kruse, the "Hampelchen" series XII-H, circa 1935. Value Points: all original and wonderfully-preserved, the rarely found wigged version of Hampelchen has very fine painting and is wearing original blue patterned boy's costume, shoes and socks.
