Description
6" (15 cm.) and 8". All wooden with socket head, carved hair in center-part style drawn smoothly around the side of face into coiled braids at each side, painted brown eyes, brows, closed mouth, jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, smaller doll has chips on feet front. Marks: 500 1/2 1. (penciled on back torso). Comments: Huggler of Brienz, Switzerland, circa 1920, the celebrated wood carving firm. Value Points: precious shy expression, deeply-sculpted hair, original traditional costume; along with a smaller size of the same model (marked 500/1) with variation in hair colors of the two dolls.
