14" (36 cm.) Solid domed swivel head with pressed and oil painted facial features, brown hair with soft curls onto the forehead, shaded brown eyes, black and brown upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, nostril dots, closed mouth, blushed cheeks and ears, firmly-stuffed cotton body with seam at elbow, loosely jointed arms, disc-jointed legs, slender body. Condition: excellent. Marks: Kathe Kruse Made in US Zone Germany (and pencil lettered "Evelyn", paper label) Made in Germany US Zone 830448 Kathe Kruse (stamp on feet), KK Kathe Kruse Unique Art Dolls (wrist paper label). Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1945, the series X model combined the facial model of Series I with later slimmed-down body Series VIII, in a cost-saving attempt by the firm. Value Points: pristine condition, the doll has fine original painting, original dotted crepe dress and cap with shirred accents, socks, shoes, undergarments, and is preserved in original box labeled Made in US Zone and "Evelyn".
