Description
23" (58 cm.) Firmly-stuffed muslin with shaped facial features, oval-shaped face with elongated throat, defined shaping of triangular-shaped painted blue eyes, and heart-shaped lips, tiny nose with accent dots, disc-jointed shoulders, floppy disc-jointed legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: the doll, trade-named "Widget", was patented by Ray Dumont of New York, in 1926; Dumont was a mannequin maker whose foray into dolls appeared to be limited to this one design. Value Points: all original, the girl with blonde yarn hair in flip curls and the same stylized forelock curl as shown in the patent drawing, is wearing original dress, blouse, undergarments, shoes and socks.
