Description
The valuable original source material includes her personal log of dolls made and presented at the New York Exchange of Woman's Work, along with fabric samples, and with various notes such as "to go with portraits, do not sell separately"; original photographs of dolls, vintage advertising brochures, dated newspaper articles, personal correspondence, family photographs, and even a disturbing letter from Woman's Home Companion to Edith in April, 1944 noting "We have sold 11,983 Penny' dolls to date. I'm sorry but I believe we'll have to concede that the original purchase price is full payment for this doll, without any royalty".
