Nine dolls, each with flat-dimensional cloth head having hand-painted facial features in a variation of expressions, and posable bodies, attached to original metal puppet rod with heavy weighted base, include Poor Cinderella, Cinderella at the Ball, Prince Charming, two wicked stepsisters, wicked stepmother, Page, Fairy Godmother, and Cinderella Bride, each with original costume designed to emphasize its role. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Edith Bartel, pre-BAPS, circa 1935, the weighted bases are notably larger than later models. Value Points: very rare early work by the celebrated artist in impeccable condition, with rare examples.
