15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, very deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between outlined lips, pierced ears, lambswool wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with gusset jointing bisque forearms. Condition: large piece broken and reglued (no missing pieces) on right front and back of head, bisque hands not original. Marks: 2/0 (head and shoulders) Bebe Brevete SGDG Paris (original paper label on torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his first model bebe, circa 1878. Value Points: splendid eyes, beautiful painting around the eyes and mouth, original wig, sturdy original torso, along with original chemise and undergarments, signed Bru shoes signed "B" in oval and "00".
