Description
12" (30 cm.) Each has firmly-pressed and painted cloth head with center seam and highly characterized expression, upturned nose, painted blue eyes, closed mouth, red or blonde silky floss curly hair, slender muslin body; the dolls are wearing original tulle and taffeta gowns with floral appliques and elaborate floral trimmed bonnets, posed on original wooden base. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Casa Carioca, Garmisch-Partenkirchen Germany (original paper label on two). Comments: Casa Carioca was a popular soldier's retreat home in Garmisch Germany during the 1930s; the dolls were created as promotional objects at that time.
